Photographing Kauai required early mornings, careful timing, and a fair bit of patience with the island’s ever-changing weather. From braving strong winds during a doors-off helicopter ride to setting up a tripod inches from incoming waves, each image was the result of both preparation and instinct. The reward was capturing fleeting moments of perfect light — the warm glow on Makana Mountain at sunrise, mist rolling through the cliffs, or the sun breaking through clouds to illuminate the ocean in shifting shades of blue.
